I chose acrylic and soft pastels for their tension: acrylic commits, pastels dissolve. That push and pull mirrors desire itself. I worked in blues because blue carries distance, the space between where you are and where you want to be. The blues blur and fold into one another, never settling. There is no focal point. The eye keeps moving, and that is intentional.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI hope collectors feel the aliveness of wanting, not as suffering but as tenderness. When the whole body is oriented toward something, and you are fully in motion. Her spiritual foundation draws on Advaita Vedanta, Hindu Tantra, and Tibetan Buddhism, and is further informed by contemporary psychological, somatic, and integral developmental approaches.
